How many Contenders were built B4 the G2 ?
« on: May 06, 2004, 11:28:29 AM »
Does anyone know a number of how many Contenders TC made before they went to the G2?  If the frame numbers are an indication it is over 500,000 but I don't know where to find out.

Can anyone help out?  :D

Thanks Buckenbass

I guess that puts them a little under 500,000  maybe 460,000?

sometime ago, it was posted here that the last frame serial numbers were:
Blue :  460524
S/S  :  S44146

I have  no idea if they started at 00000 or have gaps in the numbering, my guess is they do. might give an idea for the number you are looking for. 8)

It is believed numbering started at 1000.  Data I've seen suggest there were no gaps in numbering, at least not significant ones.  Fox Ridge used to offer frames you could get specially numbered, so these were apparently made without numbers originally and had them added to customer specs (within parameters).  Looks like when you add blue and stainless there were well over half a million of them.

buckenbass - Your frame and my newest one must have been made on the same day.
