How can I tell if my TC Contender is Stainless or ArmorAlloy

A litttle adivice would be appreciated. I am a new Contender owner and purchased what I thought was a stainless steel Contender. I have been looking at many different sites on the internet and have seen several Contenders that are AA(Armor Alloy). Notes on some sites say that the barrels of AA Contenders are not interchangeable with other Contenders. Other sites say that the AA barrel or frame has been modified to accept all Contender equipment. :?

1) How can I find out what I have?

and

2) If it is AA has it been modified or where can I get it modified?

The serial number on my Armour Alloy frame starts with Axxxx.  The modified frames and barrels accept the larger hinge pin.  I'm leaving mine unmodified.  I prefer the Armour Alloy to the stainless frame I had.  There is some lubricity to the metal that makes it work nice.

Thank you both for the replies. My serial # starts with an "s" and there are no "AA" stamps on the lug or barrel. It would apear that I did get what I paid for, which was a stainless Contender. :-)  There is a "K" stamped into one side of the barrel lug and a star stamped into the other. What do those signify?
