Hi Jim 101, I got $540 in this one tax and everything. New in the box.  On the S&W web page they had them listed for around $900 msrp. The dealer I bought it from I have done a lot of business with before. He is a great guy. I went there to buy a Kel tec from him and we just about had the deal done when he said you know I hate Kel tecs.  He didn't say why. He said take that little S&W with you and shoot it. If you don't like it I'll sell you the Kel tec. If you like it I'll give it to you at my cost cause I know you will come back and buy from me again. If I sell you something you have problems with I may never see you again. How could I go wrong with that deal. He also let me take and shoot a little Para in 45 cal about the same size. Nice gun but even at his cost it was quite a bit more.

Paul,
Wonder why he didn't let you take the kel-tec along to try as well? I have no doubt the S&W is a better made pistol, but-----millions of us find a place in our carry aresnal for the tiny kel-tecs. Your smith is a fine belt gun, but doesn't fill the nitche the kel -tec does.

I'm sure glad it says "TACTICAL" on the slide 'cuz I'd sure as heck not thought much of it if it hadn't!! :-D

I'm sure I will end up with a Kel tec in addition too this gun. For some reason my dealer has a bad taste in his mouth for the Kel tecs. But hey, like Dusty said, this one said "tactical" so it has to be good. And with all the doors I kick down that was a must :-D  If I don't make fun of myself then my kids will. May have to buy my Kel tec from a different place. Have a great day.

I had a S&W 45acp Chiefs Special a while back for a carry gun.  I liked it and was pretty good with it, but the trigger pull had a little "click" in the middle of the stroke that always bugged me.  I ended up selling it.

What's the trigger pull on these like?  Is it a smooth sweep without hitches or clicks?

You know Leoparddog before this gun all I had shot was single action Rugers and 1911 style pistols. This trigger pull is way different than either of those. At first it drove me crazy but I'm getting used to it. The 1st shot is double action with a long fairly smooth pull and the rest are single action with a long dead space then right at the end it gets real hard just before the bang.

What makes it a tactical. usually reserved for a longer barrel/sight radius etc.Tactical would not be a short barrel. It would be the gun you chose to actively enter a dangerous situation with. Not a small, light weight pistol. concealed carry and a tactical pistol are to different gun type. Will not even go into bullet performance as well as reliably. It is a fine gun, but I think "Tactical " is not what S&W should have written on it. I guess all the stuff they are writing on the guns today just anoyes me alittle. Hell My Walther P22 is a darn billboard of writing. I wolud like to see the text of the second Amendment on their instead.. Fine gun.... Shoot alot . Have fun. and take a kid shooting.
