Old Muzzleloading Rifle

Need some help.  On a brass plate on the stock it has the following...
   A(then some sort of symbol)MOR(then either E or R).  On top of the barrel, it says MF GRANT, then underneath of that, GOWANDA.
  Any Ideas?  I am at a loss.  Don't know the calibre and cannot find any other markings on it.  I just know it is older than dirt....Thanks

Hello Gabe. There is a town named Gowanda in western New York, maybe there was once a gunsmith named MF Grant?

Actually Gowanda is only about three miles from me, but I thought that that might be someone's name they put on there as proof of ownership or something.  Someone in another room said it was probably made in between 1820 and 1870.  It's a percussion rifle.  I really would be interested to see how much this thing is worth...

Hey guys.  I found some info about it.  It was made by Marvin F Crandall.  It is a percussion rifle.  It was made between 1870 and 1872.  Still has the original plunger (or whatever you call it) too.  I am probably going to get it appraised next week.  I can't believe a gun in the closet collecting dust may be worth a good chunk.  Also sort of nastalgic that I am holding a gun that was made before my great, great grandfather was born...Gabe
