Had a question TC readers might be able to answer. I have a set of Pacmayr (sp? I know it's wrong) grips and forearm for my 14" barrel 357 max, and picked up a 14" 45/410 combo the other day. Did the forearm switch and had trouble with the Pacmayr bar, so figured I would pickup genuine TC parts and quit doing the change over each time. Ordered the TC black plastic forearms (2) and a set of TC branded grips from Midway. The forearms fit well on both barrels. I pulled the Pacmayr grip and tried to put on the TC grip, but no go. The TC grip (for Contender) is cut with a single square hole. The Pacmayr is more rounded and also has a special cut that accommodates the screw and spring that is below the main screw area of the TC I have. I have a Contender (not an Encore) and the grip was genuine TC for Contender. I had heard of some differences with earlier models of TC Contenders (perhaps I have one). Midway could not answer the question, so I thought a member might be able to shed some light on why this grip won't work? Are there variations in the physical make of the grip area in Contenders? Thanks for any info.
