:D I hunted west of there quite a number of years ago. So I can't help much. Lately I've been hunting flatter, lower elevation areas although it sure was beautiful country.

Rookie,
I haven't hunted there recently but I have heard others say their honey holes didn't produce this last year.  It may have been the weather, the food supply or hunting pressure.  I usally see the most elk when I am the fartherest from a road but this past year they seemed to be in the oak brush at lower elevations.  This was during muzzle loader season and along well traveled gravel roads.  I like to put on a backpack and try to get away from everyone but I may have to change my habits if the elk change theirs.  Good Luck
James
