S-16 stripping info
« on: June 15, 2004, 12:02:08 PM »
Hi I just got a logun S-16
the legal limit for air rifles in the u.k in the uk is 12 lb/ft. When i tested my new gun on a chrono combi i found it averaged 10 lb/ft. I read a few sites and managed to get 12 lb/ft by adding a spacer behind the hammer spring as advised on another site. Also on the site however was some vague info on tuning using an internal grub screw. Having just paid out nearly £500 uk for my new gun im a little apprehensive about taking it appart blind, as its said a lot of the workings are revolutionary and have patents pending. I would like to achieve the legal uk limit without the "nasty washer" solution. Ive modified spring and PCP rifles in the past and before i was aware of legal limits (my teen years) ive achieved some decent (and some downright dangerous) powers. Now belonging to a shooting club which doesnt allow Fire arms rated guns im pretty responsible. I wonder if any of you more knowledgeable people could give me some guidance on stripping the S-16 and if you know, is the "tuning grub screw" myth or reality.
