.218 Bee???
« on: January 10, 2003, 08:24:17 PM »
Just now getting my reloading bench set up. I picked up a 10" octagon barrel in .218 bee a few months back but have yet to shoot it. I really don't know that much about it. Anybody know anything about this cartridge and it's applications. IYHO what would be a good power scope for this round? Thanks....

Frog;

I don't have any experience with the 218 Bee yet, but I do have a custom built 22 K-Hornet. I have a 2x6 power scope on it. I think that scope is great for this range of pistol cartridges.

Kirkned,

Thanks! That was a great article on the bee. I printed off some of the info for future reference...

Have one in Super 14

I have a Super 14 in the Bee and it's a companion to my Winchester 1886 action that has the Winchester bolt barrel in the Bee on it.

That Super 14 is one of my favorites, and although I don't shoot it much as it's in the stable accompanying a .222 and a couple of .223's, it's just a pleasure to shoot.

The last batch I loaded for it was with AA2200 data powder and I don't remember the speed, but I wasn't pushing it any.

On the project table are plans to try it with cast bullets just to see.
