What is the designers name who invented/created the SKS??? thee is a crappy article in the Birmingham news about 3 police officers who were killed in serivng a warrant, and I want to get some of my own facts straight before I send in a response.

The author also quotes the FBI study that was analyzed by the Violence Policy Center that states that 1 in 5 policers killed in duty are shot with assualt rifles, I know this study was debunked, but cannot remember the source. Any help on this???

As I have been told and believe from experience, after 32+ years "on the job", less than .1 (1/10th) of 1 (one) percent of crimes are committed with "assault rifles" (whatever they are, black stocks? bad looking? whatever)....<><.... :grin:

I'll bet the NRA already has a lot of that info gathered for you if you contact them.  If you're a member there is a lot of info inside.  If you're not, you should be.

The SKS was designed by a Russian named Simonov for what it's worth. I wish you well in responding to the newspaper report but I doubt you will change the minds of any of the illustrious Fourth Estate. They have a deep fear of anything that even resembles a gun, all the while ignoring the fact that it is the person who pulls the trigger that is responsible for its use. That's my 2 cents.

Contrary to popular belief by the anti's..... the "assault weapon", as are every other weapon known to man, a harmless inanimate object.   But, put it in the hands of an idiot and you have a dangerous idiot..... not a dangerous weapon.

  Don't punish the weapon or society.... punish the criminal!!!!!!!!!
