I own two K-31's (wonderful rifles); a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 (fun to shoot); a Mosin-Nagant M44 (great restoration project) and a host of Cowboy Action guns.  Now after viewing the attached picture.....

Well, if you really are into milsurp and like the ones you have go ahead and get a Mauser 98, a 96 (Swede) and a No. 4 Enfield .303.

WELL, I would say

" concentrate on stock-piling ammunition for the ones that you have, Because if Kerry wins you will stop seeing cheap surplus ammo - Buy up all the powder and re-loading components you can buy because they are going to be taxed out of existance - Bury all of the
above mentioned Items somewhere safe. Use some of the money you would use to purchase more firearms to buy up fuel because we will not be able to afford it in a couple of years. Fortify your home because all
of the CRIMINALS will be looking for your above mentioned STUFF to sell on the black market."

But I can't say that or you would think I was Paranoid!!!!

Well, it depends on how much room you have in your gun safe(s).  I am sure if you asked Bill Clinton to define "need" (as long as he didn't know this was about firearms) he would be able to help you come to a conclusion that made you feel good.

I asked that question of myself after I bought a 12 ga. pump shotgun to go trap shoting and duck hunting with.  Soon, I figured that I needed to go deer hunting as well, so I bought a 30-06 bolt action.  Then I figured I needed a 357 Mag handgun.  Then I needed a 22 revolver.  Then I needed a 9mm.  Then I decided that my oldest son needed a 20 guage shotgun.  Then I decided I needed another 9mm handgun.  Then I decided that my oldest son needed a rifle to go deer hunting with so I bought him an SKS.  Then.......I filled up my first gun safe.

Then my youngest son needed a shotgun and deer rifle.  Then I needed to buy a second 22 revolver so they would each have one to shoot at the range.   Then I needed to buy two 22 semi-auto target pistols for each to shoot at targets.  Then I needed to get two more 357 mags.  Then a lever action Marlin 30-30 jumped into my hands at a gun show.

Then I inherited my father-in-laws M1 Carbine.  Then a Colt 1903 made in 1910 jumped into my hands at a gunshow.  Then while shooting at the pistol range the guy next to me asked if I would like to buy his Savage mod 1907 32 ACP for $100 (I said yes and he threw in two boxes of ammo and a holster).  Then I started collecting pre WWI 32acp semi-auto pistols in a serious manner.  Then I bought an MN1891/30.

Now my second gun safe is full and I am asking myself the question you too are asking.  Do I think I need more guns?  I think I know what my wife would say.  I know that not having room in my gun safe(s) is a major impediment on my acquiring another firearm.

Of course if at the gunshow this weekend, I see a small 32 ACP from before WWI or a Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Long Colt at a great price, I can probably find some room to squeeze it into one of the two safes.........

You/We can never have enough guns!!!!!!  Or enough AMMO too!!
                                                                       BigBill

Some mausers like an 8mm 98k, M48, a 6.5 swede and a 7mm chilean would be a nice add to your collection than maybe an sks & a Hakim too.

I heard that kerry wants to put a $50 tax on handgun ammo for starters!!!!!  So stockup now on everything from new ammo to reloading supplies we just never know when things will change, its better to be frugal now than pay thru the nose and who knows what else later.

I personally haven't heard this, but boy would it be stupid (not that Kerry is beyond being stupid).  Anybody wanting to use the gun for something bad could splurge for a $60 box of bullets (you can do a lot of drive-bys with a box of 9mm bullets), but it would effectively kill handgun target shooting.

Of course, Walmart has that nice little yes/no bit on the cash register when buying ammo.  Since .22LR can be used for rifle or pistol, they ask you which you intend to use it for.  If you say pistol, gotta be 21 to buy.  If you say rifle, gotta be 18 to buy.  I wonder if they'd selectively tax the ammo like that.  "Sure, that 100 pack of 9mm if for my Beretta Storm at home . . . wink wink".

And in all seriousness, if it came down to that I could get by with using cast bullets, shotgun powder, and cut-down rifle brass to make most of my needed pistol ammo.  It's thought that 7.62x25 Tokarev might be done away with soon because of armor-piercing capabilities, so I've already been practicing making brass for that from .223 Remington (and so far I've converted nearly 150 cases).
