What is the oldest Black bear that any of you have killed? For me it was an 18 year old boar in SE Alaska in 1999.

I shot an old sow with a patchy coat, cataracts(sp) in her eyes and most of her teeth were worn to the gums. I have no idea how old she was but i'm guessing pretty old.

Not sure about other states, but in Alaska you are required to have a tooth turned in (I took the head to Fish & Game and they would pull a tooth, they also measure the skull). They then send you a letter stating the skull size, age of bear and what the average age and skull size was for that season in the area you hunted.
