i have been building and shooting cannons and mortars
for the last 15 years. i spent the last couple of hours reading
all of the past posts and looking at all the pics. i figured i would
post some pics of my cannons.  :D

Okay Jay-Jay-Uno,

It's not just good enough to post pictures and run off.  You have to tell us all about them.

How you made them, what you shoot in them, etc.

ok, the top cannon shoots coke cans full of concrete.
the big boy in the middle is a little harder to find
good projectiles. the bore size is 3.25 inches. soup cans
are a little small but work ok if a sheet of newspaper is
folded and cupped around it. the bottom one is my golfball
shooter. all three were built using seamless pipe. the top two
also have reinforced breeches. this rough diagram shows
how the breech area is built.

basically the breech plug is tapered to fit in the end of the pipe.
it is then welded flush. after that a larger piece of pipe is split,
cupped around the breech and welded.
i just moved from memphis to jacksonville, arkansas about a month
ago. i have not found a place to shoot around here yet. we had
350 acres about 20 minutes outside of memphis. i am going to miss
that.

Great pix dude!

Last time I shot anything around Little Rock was an M14 at an Army large bore rifle team match.

What kind of range do you get on the golf ball launcher?

it depends on the bounce :-D
the very few that we have found have been
anywhere from 400 to 600 yards.
