Today a black powder cannon shoot took place at the NRA Whittington Shooting Center at Raton, NM. It was a sight to be seen. Although, today there were only six full sized cannon on the firing line, it was well worth the trip. Tomorrow, Sunday, I have been told, is the real match and bunch more are expected to participate. Noted all but one was fuze fired and it was via lanyard. Great thing about the lanyard, when the cord is pulled, the gun fires immediately - no waiting and hoping there is no mis-fire. Each gun had the fuze ignited with a propane torch which sure beats the heck out of matches or smoldering cords. I'm going back tomorrow and will get some digital pictures and will share them if any one is interested in seeing them. I hate to impose on DD again, but I gave up on trying my luck at posting pictures. If someone does want to see them and IF DD is agreeable to post them for me, I'll attempt to get some decent shots (pictures). I'll also get the name of the cannon group/club. This type event may be old stuff for most of you guys but it's new and fascinating to me. Sorry this is so lengthy...Blaster (Bob in CO)
