Veral i got them lube and gas checked. Problem is that they shot for crap. This 1911 is a consistant 2 inch gun. Best groups were around 6 inches I tried 5 grains of bullseye and 6 grains of aa2 both shot for crap. I was sizing to .452. Lubed with lbt blue soft. Does this bullet need to be stood on in your experience to be accurate. I dont have alot of time to fool with the autos and any shortcuts to a better load would be apppreciated.

Its a acp bullet and ive tried in with just about every thing from loads that wouldnt cycle the action to loads that i wouldnt print here. Just cant seem to make it shoot in this gun I have a new kimber comming and ill try it in that gun and see if its just the gun that doesnt like it.

Lloyd: one of our other posters, Duffy, provides that he gets excellent accuracy using 6.5 grains of Longshot powder with that 230 gn LBT bullet. Now, his post didn't specify if it was gas checked or not but if it is an LBT bullet it should be the same as yours, unless they have two different offerings. HTH. Mikey.

I've sold many LFN molds for 45 ACP, in weights from 200 up to 260 gr, with this the first complaint of poor accuracy. Most say the 220 and heavier weights are superbly accurate, a few say they get good accuracy but not match grade. No one has told me about problems with any powder that worked with other bullets. SO_______.

If you are not used to using gas checked bullets, one possibility that may be causing you problems is out of square bases. If using a Star sizer and pushing them through base first, this is a very likely problem. The shorter the bullet, the more out of square based throw accuracy off.

If your guns shoots other cast bullets accurately when sized 452, I don't believe diameter could be a problem.

using a star sizer nose first sizing. I could probably fill a pickup with the gas checked bullets ive casted sized and shot. Im picking up a new Kimber match target today. Ill give them a run in that gun and see if it is just that the Champion doesnt like that bullet. Hope i can get it to shoot in one of the guns. Its sure a neat little bullet and would make a great game bullet for the acp. I did notice that it tends to want to shoot a tad better in the champion if i really stand on it. I was getting 2 1/2 inch groups with it with 5 grains of vit 310 but thats a load thats a little stouter then id like to run in the gun on a constant level.
