Mollie Davis is Home!
« on: May 22, 2004, 07:20:39 AM »
Mollie got discharged from Arkansas Childrens' Hospital today! :-D

We just got home 20 minutes ago. It is good to be home.

The only problem she is having is pain in her neck muscles (from where the doctors had to cut and shove apart to get to the spinal cord). It is difficult for Mollie to turn her neck from side to side and up & down. But that is controlled with pain meds.

Thank you all for all the prayers and encouragements you have posted.
It has meant a great deal for Lindsey and myself, and has helped us make it through this time of stress and need.

Thanks also to Mary Galiano & family from Beverly Hills, CA for the bear and balloons that were sent to Mollie. It impressed Lindsey that someone took the time and made the effort to send a gift to a total stranger from across the country.

If any of you want pictures of Mollie, send me your email addresses and we will respond. I just can't get the hang of posting pictures to an off site photo post.

God's blessings on all of you and thank you.

Sincerely,

Jeff, Lindsey, and Mollie Davis

Good to hear Coltrane.  I knew she'd be fine what with all of the people she had pulling for her.

You just wait, it won't be long you'll be complaining about all of the soccer, softball and vollyball practices you have to take her to :-D

Oh yeah, then comes the dances, and dates etc, etc

Wlscott,

Please don't even bring up dating to me! Somewhere in my pile, I have a copy of 10 Rules For Dating My Daughter. A copy of this will be posted on the refridgerator and a copy handed out to each prospective suitor.

Not to mention the fact when I meet the young man, I will be cleaning the trusty ol' 1911A1 at the table... "Come on in! Ever seen a .45 auto up close? What!? What did I say? Where are you going? We haven't even gotten to know you yet.  So long, then."

  HEH HEH HEH.

Both of my step daughters told their mom that their boyfriends were scared of me.(they all watched me clean and work the actions of some of my guns when they came to pick up the daughters) I told the wife that  was good.....I liked it that way...The fact that I wore a uniforn with a badge on it didn't help much either.... Glad Mollie is home and fine.....

Coltrane - The story of Mollie has really touched me in my heart and I tear up at each post about her that I read. I have a 12 yr. old daughter myself who is "daddy's little girl" and who I've made promise that she always will be, regardless. She has also said that she isn't getting married until she is 30, or was it 27, maybe it was 21, no I think it was 19, anyway I believe that the age goes down with each passing year. Hummmm, better keep them shootin irons in plain view, and well lubed.
We had a small accident at my workplace last week that could have certainly been much worse. I drive a forklift and manage two warehouses that sit side by side (I also drive the delivery truck after I load it) but I was moving skids from one warehouse to the other and she came to bring me a fax that had come in and was standing at the end of the ramp to the warehouse that I was in and because she was talking to one of her girlfriends on the phone, she wasn't paying attention, and I never saw her either, and I hit her with the skids and proceeded to roll her up under them and almost completely ran over her with with the forklift   She is pretty boogered up but OK Thank God. She is so special tho, within one minute she was more concerned about me and how I was reacting than she was about herself, "I'm tough daddy, I can handle it", "I'm OK daddy, don't feel bad." It took me about two hours to regain good sense and I didn't sleep well that night as you can imagine. She just returned from children's church camp last night and we will be together again today and I can't wait to have "special time" with her today after she was gone all weekend. We have raised four boys who are grown and gone now and girls are just a little different and a little more precious to their daddys than boys, can't really explain that, just know it.
Anyway I know and can feel your concern for Mollie, and I am trusting God and asking Him for many precious years for the two of you to spend together. I have you, your wife, and Mollie on my prayer list now and am looking forward to more posts and would love to receive those pics. Just send them to catchnm@duracom.net.
God BLESS you and your family,
John

Good to hear from you Safetysheriff! I haven't hardly seen your postings in a while.

Lik2hunt, I am halfway through my overnight shift this week. Once I can get my days off Wed, I will write up Mollie's bio and select a group of photos to go with it.

I hope your daughter is recovering quickly and you have an oppprtunity to get out and shoot with her.

I already have a Handi-Rifle set back for Mollie. It's a youth model in .243 with a 20 gauge barrel in red laminated straight stocks. I am looking to get a single shot .22 for her as well. I even want to get a Ruger Bearcat .22 revolver with a leather holster rig so she can be a cowgirl. Her momma and nana want to get her a pony, so she might as well look the part.

Thanks again for your concern and friendship.

The Davis Family.
