« on: May 17, 2004, 02:10:06 PM »
I just ordered this Scope from Jon at the Optic Zone.
Elite 4200 4-16x40  Model #42-4164M
My Question is doe's this Model have the Semi-Target Turret's.
I saw one at the local store and it did. I beleive it is the same model but could be wrong. I want the Target Turret's. When I called Bushnell the guy I talked to  didn't know :?

"My Question is doe's this Model have the Semi-Target Turret's"

I'm ALMOST 100% sure that is does.  My 4-16X50 4200 does as do my 6-24X40 4200s.  I'm almost sure the turrets are the same on the 4-16X40 4200...

Thanks Big6X6:
In my Bushnell Catalog those Scope's you mentioned say
Semi-Target Turret's but the 4-16x40 doesn't say :?

Guess what I have in my hands...... a Tikka WH Laminated Stainless in .25-06 with an Elite 4200 4x-16x-40mm AO.

I just went to my gun rack and picked it up so that I could give you your answer.  Yes, it does have target turrets.  Now, I'm not quite sure what they mean by semi-target turrets.  I can say that it has screw on caps for both the horizontal and vertical adjustments, and the turrets are much higher than regular adjustments, AND you can adjust them with your fingers.

And guess what?  I also bought this exact same scope from Jon at the Optic Zone.  I can't tell you how many scopes I have purchased from him - his prices are awesome, and so is his service!

In fact, next scope I get will probably also be another 4x-16x-40mm to be mounted on my .264 Win. Mag.

You got yourself one heck of a scope!

Thanks Zachary:
Thats what I wanted to here :-D
This Ain't the first time you answered a Question for me.
I purchased an Elite 3200 3-9x40 from Jon awhile back but wanted more power for my Savage 12FV .223, so I sent it back to Bushnell for a full refund including shipping. Love that no questions asked Gaurantee  .
I plan on sending it to Bushnell for a Custom Retical Change FCH .25 Dot.
So far the Elite's are the brightest, Clearest Scope's I have looked through.

Zack: A true target turret is usually larger and does not have a cap that goes over like on the Bushnell Elite 3200 10x40. A semi target turret is smaller and usually has a cap that goes over like what you have on your scope.

Side Note: For future reference, you may want to realign the zero marks on the adjustment scale ring with the index line.

        Step one: Sight in rifle
Step Two: Remove screw from top of turret
Step three: Lift turret and align "0" with index line. (be sure to lift turret completely off before turning or you will change your point of impact)
Step four: Put screw back in and and tighten.

If your scope is ever nocked off zero or you have to adjust for windage and elevation you can always move it back to where it was originally sighted in at.

SLAVAGE: Scroll down to the bottom of this link and it explains which reticle can go in which scope. http://www.bushnell.com/productinfo/riflescopes/techtalk.html

Actually, you're right.  And on that same note, I'm not very fond of those true turrets because, since there is no cap to cover them, they could loose their adjustment very easily.  Well, maybe yes, maybe no, but adjustments with caps are a whole lot more secure than without.

Thanks for all the Help guy's:
I too Prefer the caps as they keep out dust and other unwanted's.
Also I got an e-mail from Jon conferming the Turrets as well.
I think my Savage 12FV .223 is going to like it's new Glass.
And My 10/22 keep's asking for it's Tasco back :) .
