Looking for a source for these in 530 gr.
The Lyman 2nd edition loading manual has data, but I can't locate the bullets.

The plan is to carry my .54 Lyman Great Plains with the 1-32 twist in Alaskan bear country while hunting caribou.

I want the Maxi-ball, not the Maxi-hunter, and have only been able to find the Maxi-ball in the 430 gr. weight.

So, anyone know where I can find 530's?

Ya might try Track of the Wolf in Elk River,, on page 432 of their 02-03 book they list "Solid Maxi-Balls for T/C". I'll post a link, call or e-mail them guy's,,their current with bp items available. If they don't have it, they'll sure guide ya to where,,,,

 I live near St.Cloud,,(Rice). I shoot .54 (and .50 and .45) I'm a ball head kinda guy so I don't know alot about those fast twist GPR's,,but I know a feller that swears buy those .380grn R.E.A.L. ,,I've a mold for those,never tried'm,,but I can crank up the melter and cast ,,,,

Looking on my shelf, I have 9, 455 grn t/c maxi's  in a box,,you can hav'm if ya want, I might just have some 300 grn REAL around here some place too,,(bullets, hhrumph! don't need'm!) You can have'm!

Do ya vous'? I go to Isle, and Harris come fall. Anyway's,,if ya ever come ta Cloudytown give me a PM before hand,,I'll pass a pound a lead to a feller BP shooter in a heart beat!,,an set an have coffee too!

Lostid,

Thanks for the quick response.

I called and talked to Track, and they said they didn't have them in 530.

I appreciate the offer of the bullets, if I'm heading your way I'll definitely let you know.

What are the dates for Isle & Harris? I'm only 15 miles or so from Harris, and Isle isn't a big deal as far as distance either.

I shoot a lot of roundball my own self, but figured bigger would be better if I'm arguing with a ticked-off "you've got my caribou and I want it back" Alaskan bear. That's also the reason I'm looking for the Maxi-ball and not the Maxi-hunter, I want that bullet to go way deep.

Let's see, Isle is June 25-27 it's the Mille Lacs History Fest and Rendezvous, usually 25-30 camps,traders/venders included. Plenty of shootin, and activities..

You really should find the Goose Creek Muzzleloaders,,1/2 mile east of 35 on 95, then about 1 mile north on dirt. It's a BIG club,,their vous' is Sept. 17-19,,but they have competition shoot's all summer ! Alot of knowledge there,,

Tell ya what,, check yer PM
