Reticle for Target Shooting?

There are so many names for the different reticles, which are the best for paper target shooting?  I realize there are reticles with the word "target" in the name, but not all brands have them.  Do the Illuminated reticles have a place in target shooting?  Thanks.

If paper targets are all you are doing I would use either a 1/4 or 1/8 M.O.A. dot reticles. Usually illuminated reticles are for hunting

You can use standard "duplex" reticles, which means that the indside of the cross hairs are much thinner than the outside part of the cross hairs.

You can also look at mil-dot reticles, which means that there are small dots on the cross hairs.  With these reticles, you can take out some of the guess-work for the trajectory.  However, you really don't need these reticles if you will only be shooting at a constant distance.
