If there were only one general purpose 30mm scope available what size would you like it to be? Variable, straight power, obj. size, 1/4 clicks, 1/8 clicks, etc.

Include any options such as fast focus eye-piece, low profile turrets, finger turrets, etc.

Just looking to see if a pattern developes.

For my purposes the IOR 2.5-10x42 Tactical Illuminated fits the bill:
Variable power, 1/2moa adjustments, superb glass, MP-8 mil-line reticle for ranging/holdover, multi-level illumination.

It's kinda hard to have just one model.  I think 2.5x is too low for my tastes, and 10x is okay.  I would think that a 4x-12x or better yet a 4x-16x-45 or 50mm.  I don't care much for side focus, although it's nice to have.  I think that a ballistic-type plex is nice too.

Of course, in my personal opinion, if I were to buy a scope, the most important features should be that the scope has the highest quality optics (meaning light transmission of 95% or over), excellent tracking, realiability, and durability, and a lifetime warranty.  If a scope doesn't have these important qualities, then you could paint it in solid gold and sell it for a dollar and I wouldn't buy it. :)
