because of the actual bore size I believe about the only option in a contender barrel rechamber would be to 22 WRM. .........

I think you may be able to do a Hornet, but you might be better off just trading it off for another barrel in a chambering you may be more interested in.

All of TCs (or Fox Ridge, or Custom Shop) "22 caliber" blanks are the same bore dia (223), and the same twist (1:12) if they've been made in the last 20 years or so.

So you can make it anything you want :)  - At that length, you could go 22 mag, 22 hornet, 218 bee, 221 fireball, 222 rem, 223 rem, etc..

Price on a rechamber may be enough to just trade it for what you really want, as the other poster mentioned.

Dad recently had a bbl rechambered by Gary at Reedercustomguns.com and they turned it around in a couple of weeks.  Cost was approx $75.

I am pretty sure that one bore size on all 22 cal. is not correct.  Their hornets have a .224 bore size.

I've checked with Fox Ridge, more than once..  They said they are all 223, and for awhile they were 1:14 but now have gone to 1:12.

Double check if you want -   If they tell you something different, pls let me know.

My mistake...

I stand corrected.  They are *not* all .223 as I stated above.

I do still think they are the same bore dia (224) and same twist 1:12 but since I was mistaken before now I think a call to Fox Ridge may be in order....

I have a 10 inch 22LR that has been rechambered to 22K-Hornet and it shoots sweet!!!   I'd recommend that if you are interested; 2675 fps with 45 grain bullets.
