Ken,yes the rifle came from the factory with the peep sight installed. Dad told me it was called the poor mans target rifle. Like I said, Dad's eyesight was getting bad and he loved to hunt squirrels with that rifle, so he had it drilled and tapped for weaver bases. He has since had corrective surgery on his eyes and regrets having modified the rifle. I use the peep to hunt squirrels, groung hogs and rabbits. I've used the scope for close range fox hunting. The rifle is in excellent condition aside from being drilled and tapped. Thanks for the information. Worm
