JB Weld, Loctite and scope mounts...
« on: March 07, 2004, 02:23:51 AM »
1.) I have read that there is a way of stabalizing the unsupported front end of the scope mounts on NEF rifles with JB Weld....will someone please explain the process.....?

2.) When new barrels arrive from NEF with mounts already installed, as with the .17 HMR, should the mounts be pulled and treated with Loctite?
If so, do you put some Loctite UNDER the mount or on the screw threads only?

This answer is a long time in coming. This link is for a centerfire but the bedding of the scope rail is the same. hth
