or do I have to reregister? is it difficult or should I just leave it alone as my prefered name may now be used by somebody else?
Just how much trouble is it?

Just click on your profile at the top of page on the right. When it brings up your profile just type in the new name you want and if it isn't already taken you'll get it. If it is already taken it will tell you that also. If you are wanting Jim L I'm pretty sure that is taken.

do you ever purge the website of old unused names or ones that haven't posted in quite a while? This would free them up for people that will use them.

I suspect it is taken. so I guess I will keep Deaf Smith as my sign on and just use Jim L as my sig. No biggie it was just a thought.

Ricky, nope I pretty much don't. Not every one who logs in and reads posts even tho they read regularly.

We do have a Jim L. who is a regular reader and not infrequent contributor mostly in the reloading and cast bullet areas. I can't recall precisely how he has his user name but as best as I recall it is Jim L or Jim L. one or the other.
