No I don't own one, but I own it's cousin. (Cabelas by investarms)..
First off it dosen't come with the peep,,it say's "shown with optional Lyman 57sl",,(add $70-80), it's a good peep and worth the money but the rifle comes stock with an adjustable rear wide "V" style. If you can use open sights,,these are about as good as they get.
The Deer Stalker is a shallow groove iron bore 1-48. With the 24" barrel it's best suited as a "brush gun",,,, with proper load development,(aka; shoot a bunch too learn your gun! and listen to experiance.), it can shoot ball or heavy Maxi/Minnie ball with 1" MOA out too 75 yards out of box. Beyond that an experianced ml shooter could probably improve groups, but it takes dedication and advanced tuneing.(spl?)
The Lyman coil spring lock is strong, quick and very reliable and has little history of needing replacement,,the DSDT triggers are great, although due to liability issues,, the front trigger adjustment screw is a bit short,,if you like a "hair" trigger you'll need to replace that screw (get a longer one for $2).
The snail breech design is a good one, easy to clean, but the factory nipp's are a bit lame,,another $5 here. They do accept GM I.B.S. barrels,,so your future caliber choices are many. Given the 15/16 inch OD of the octagon barrel, the .54 will be lighter than the .50,,,,,
good luck,,best wishes to ya
