The Encore is used for IHMSA.  Depending on which barrel you get would depend on which class you would shoot in.  They used to make 10 inch barrels and those would qualify for production.  7mmBR would be my first choice if I were to use an Encore.  I would also choose the 7mmBR for the 15 inch barrels for unlimited, of course they have discontinued both of these calibers.  Other calibers availabel would be the 44mag, 7-08.  Hope this helps.

Yes, a fluted SS 13" 6.5 x 55 Swede with a Bushnell 2x6, use it in UAS events.

Yep, I used to use a 10 inch 7.62X39 for production big bore. The gun worked great, but I never could get it to fit my short fingers so I went back to the Contender. A 7BR would also work great.

 Before embracing bolt guns I Put together a 6BR Encore, barrel by Bullberry, Leupold 2.5x8. Bullberry forend and trigger job.

Shot a lot of steel with 28.5 grains of RL-15 and the sierra 107. Latter found a 10 inch 7BR barrel and have used it in Production with some success. 2nd place AAA at the 2001 Internationals. 77x80 but could not buy a shootoff target

Bill Jr had loaded the ammo and it was a pretty stiff load....can you say "LOUDANDGOBOOMER"

In order for it to be production big bore, doesn't that require a factory barrel? I didn't think T/C made a 7.62x39 10" barrel, or was that custom shop? Do you still have the barrel?

Thanks,
Rob

TeamNelson anything from TC's custom shop (fox ridge) in the 10 inch barrels is approved.  The 7.62x39 from TC is to be used with .308 bullets not .311.  This is an excellent cartridge for the game being very close to the BR-PPC series of cases in terms of capacity and overall size.
