Bushnell Legend
« on: May 10, 2004, 09:23:17 AM »
I've narrowed by search for a scope down to 3 models by Bushnell:

Legend 5 X 15
Trophy 6 X18
Banner 6 X 24

I haven't looked through the Legend yet, but I've compared the Trophy and the Banner and notice little if any difference. I'm wanting a scope for a Ultra Varmint .223 with main use hunting ground hogs. I'm reality new to this type of hunting, and friends tell me in my area shots could be 200 yds.

The Legend is listed between the Elite and the Trophy, but the price is about 20 dollars cheaper. No one locally as one, but should be in stock this weekend.

I'll be replacing a Simmons 3 X 9 Blazer (putting it back on 22 lr) so any of the above will be an improvement. Banner and Legend are Mil-Dot reticles and I really liked the sight picture they give.

Any input from the Experts here will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom

Optically wise, chris is basically right.  One difference that I notice is that the construction of the tube and power ring seems cheap.

I believe the legends are a 2 piece tube where as the 3200 is a 1 piece tube. Also the 3200 is made out of a titanium alloy.

Decided on the Legend.

I want to thank everyone for the replies. I decided on the Legend 5-15x. Went to the range today and after some difficulty sighting it in (my bad, set this up myself and it has been awhile) and some 30 shots later I ended with a 3 shot group that a quarter would cover at about 85 yds. So far I really like this scope, and after a few more trips to the range I'll post the results.
