Pennies for targets
« on: February 21, 2004, 04:10:38 PM »
Has anyone ever tried shooting pennies at 50 yards before. Or has anyone tried lighting matches with thier rim-fire rifles at 20 yards. So far I can only hitt the pennies.

I am pretty sure that since the pennys are the property of the United States government that it is a crime to destroy them.

There was just an FBI agent out at our range looking for violators.

Animal Crackers
« Reply #3 on: February 22, 2004, 12:54:59 PM »
When I first started my boy shooting we used Animal Crackers and awarded different points to each species.  There was a colored waffer candy that we used too and again different points awarded for different colors.  How about Life Savers and trying to shoot through the hole!

Besides both were bio-degradable and eatable.

:D  I like to flip 1/4" flat washers into the air then shoot through the holes with my single six while in mid air.  :-D

Golf balls
Lately, I've taken to shooting golf balls with a Ruger single six.  I just throw 'em on the ground (preferably just after the grass has been cut) and chase 'em across the field with the ruger.  As they get farther away they just get more challenging.

Try aspirins    Our club has a group which shoots  Bayer aspirins at 100 yds for a dime a shot----friendly competition  :)  They spray them red, hot glue 50 at a time to cardboard and set them at the 100 yd line. A hit must not leave any red behind to count---a miss costs you 10 cents. They use the most beautiful benchrest rifles you ever saw with an occasional mod. 52 oldie thrown in. All use 36x scopes. Anything goes as long as it shoots 22LR ammo. I can afford the dime and the ammo, but I'm saving up for the rifle!!!!!      pg
