17v or marlin 7000.22auto?

i have a 17v marlin that i like, but the shells are a little expensive and i have a buddy that has a marlin 7000 .22 rifle he wants to trade me even.ive had a 7000 be4 and i regreted getting rid of it. i would like to hear your guys opinions on this trade. were keeping our scopes and trading the rifles even. i like to plink and target shoot against my buddys.there both super accurate rifles but i cant make up my mind on whether 2 trade or not. what would u guys do? thanks in advance for any opions!!!

Well since you regret getting rid of your old 7000 and the 17 ammo is expensive , why not trade? Since he is a friend of yours you will still be able to shoot the 17 when you are shooting together. The 22lr ammo is far less expensive for the most part.

Or you could just buy yourself a 22 and keep the 17V!
