Sling on a Contender
« on: June 01, 2004, 02:36:07 PM »
What is the best way to put a sling on a contender?
I have one with a barrel band and a homemade bolt
in the grip.
It works good but the barrel band puts marks on the barrel.
I like the sling better than a holster.

The best way is to buy the correct sling swivel set. It has an attachment for the forend block and a long screw that replaces the grip screw.

You can get them at any well stocked firearm store or online catalog.

uncle mikes makes a sling kit for the contender. I have one for each of my contenders. I have had the long stud that goes in the grip bend on me.

T/C (fox ridge outfitters) sells sling studs. get two of them and drill a small hole in the grip cap and put in one of the studs and use the other in the fore end they run about $1.95 each.
