So far the NEF service is excellent:
1. UPS 223 SS/Syn on 5/10/04, NEF received and sent receipt 5/17/04
2. NEF repairs and tests accuracy
3. Sends back on 5/25/04
4. I receive rifle today, 6/2/04 via UPS.

Sent rifle in because it WOULD NOT extract and the accuracy was TERRIBLE!

My packing slip shows:
Repaired, Function tested action
Test fired multiple times.

NEF sent me a small picture of test target with a decent group, does not have any markings to be able to judge size, but group looks, OK. Extractor SEEMS more robust.

I am very happy with the turn around time, now to the range to test the results. Do y'all know anything about these pictures of targets, also, they sent me a hammer extension, just wondering cuz I had one on the rifle?

Maybe the new hammer ext is a different style.

Test Targets are bench rest firing results saying it shot well for them and should for you ....... sending it back says it will now eject - Go-for-it !!

Was gonna go out and try it this am, wind is 24 mph w/ gusts to 30, think I will wait.

Rip:
1. Do you know the size of the dot or target so I can get some idea of group size.

2. Does anyone shoot theirs off a bi pod?

MARK A: I don't know what size test targets they use - can call them, or shoot your own .... shoot your one and then you know. You need the correct weight bullet for your barrel twist - 55 gr will work in almost all.

Good bench rest, bag both ends - breath in-out 1-2-3 pulse pull .... if the trigger pulls even, then your in business even with 5 pounds / lighter pull is much better ( Safety call ). Squeeze off your own test target and see what you get. Shooting Sticks work .... I like them better than a pod. When you get used to what you have, it all works for you - select fit. Anything that kicks your teeth loose will make you blink and yank when shooting several shots - everything else can be overcome - disoplines, not anticapating the explosion - LOL.

Mark, my Ultra doesn't like a bipod at all. I use shooting sticks of my own design that work better than a bipod anyway. They are more versital in different terrain, and easy to carry. Groups will open up if I attach anything to my forearm stock.
