Has anyone bought one of these two rifles within the last two years? If so, how do they perform? Groups size with different ammo? Any problems or any dislikes? They seam to be well made but I can't find anyone who has bought a new production within the last two years.

Nope, not since I was in my 20s and I'm soon leaving the 50s. Liked my old 572 hated the 552. Jammed all the time and just in general was a piece of crap. The worst Remington I've ever owned. Can't say if it was typical tho.

I'm finding out on the older 552 that they were mixed reviews. The 572 I have had little responce on. I see them at dealers new but no one has realy any comments. By the way how is your T/C classic 22 panning out?

Haven't had the TC Classic out yet.

I set a range day the other day and got rained out. I'm hoping when the effects of Frances are completely gone from here I can have a range day or two to shoot it, the Ruger 77-17, my new R700 LSS Mtn. Rifle in .260 Rem. and several others. I've got a lot of range work I need to do. Just have to make the time to do it. Now that blueberry season is behind me I just need to find a decent day for it.

Got fogged out two days and rained out a couple days so far when I had planned to shoot.

I have a 572, but I cannot tell you about the what they are like the last two years though. Mine is about 20 years old, but I do not think they have changed the design much. Mine will shoot under an 1" at 50 yards with CCI Mini Mags. It has never jammed or caused me any problems. I had a trigger job done on mine and it now has a 3 lb crisp trigger. Wish I could give you more current (last 2 year info) but I cannot, but I would not be afraid to buy a Remington product. I do not think their quality has gone down hill recently as much as some others think.

Thanks for the reply. I find a lot of 572's that are older are well thought of by their owners and they will not part with them. I was just hopping to find about the newer ones.

If you are going to spend the money that Remington is asking for a 572, buy an older one. The "Current" model of anything just isn't equal to one made 50 years ago. I have two 572's that are pre-serialized and in great condition. The 552 isn't worth using as a walking stick. Like GB said, it jams too much with everything you feed it.
