old barrel

I've this old barrel that is 15 inches long, the only markings on it are 454 mag, Ingram. any throughts on who made the barrel and what the cal. is? me thinks it was made in the sixties out of a rifle barrel, possibly the fore runner for the casaul. what'cha think?

I think that if it is in fact chambered for the .454 Casull you best not ever fire one in it. Pressures are WAY more than the Contender can deal with.

I'd get a chamber cast made of it to see if you can determine just what it is really chambered for. You might also call up RCBS Tech Line and ask what the cartridge it that it says it is chambered for.
