The grocery store tabloids always have pictures and well researched articles. These things are a growing problem in some areas. Nothing stops them,.........not even holy water.

Now the regs aren't posted for this fall yet, but I heard a rumor that they are planning some population management hunts for them in some of the southern units. Wonder what the legal weapons will be?

Sorry, but they are about as real as vampires, werewolves, ghosts, boogymen, tooth fairy and other such personalities. Just a little superstition from south of the border. Only as real as you want to believe them to be or have something you want to put the blame on.

Thanks guy for the help i got the info i needed and Thomas Sorry but i believe this might be a real creature only the government could conferm it they know too much and hide it all from us which is not right!!

If they didn't hide it, they would become extinct practically overnight.

I say it's good ecological management on Gail Norton's part. :wink: Especially when it comes to the black tailed ones.

We also had a similar creature here in the southwest for many years that I beileve is now extienct. Haven't seen one in the wild, just postcards at airports and both head and full body mounts for sale.

I am talking about the Jackalope. It's a crossbred jackrabbit/antelope. Must have been hunted to extinction for horns and meat cause I haven't found any carcasses out in the desert like you would see if they were poisoned or something.

They had them listed in some of the Cabelas catalogs for a long time, probably still there.
