Alternative Critter Control

For a different way of taking care of neighbors cats and dogs that are bothering you, instead of killing them(which could end up with you in court) do what my cousin does.  He uses a paint ball gun loaded with blood red marking dye.  Not the stuff they use for their games but the stuff used by timber cruisers to mark trees for cutting.  Not only stings the critter but marks them for their masters to let the owners know that their animal is not wanted in certain places.  It’s a non-lethal way of handling the problem and keeps you on the good side of the law.  I tried it and it works great.  Small groups and tight lines to all.  Lawdog

And where do you buy the stuff?

At any rate, I doubt it would be effective on cats. Most people who let cats run loose will not, under any circumstances, restrain them. (and around here, there are no laws requiring them to)
The cat I've been painting has learned only to be more stealthy on my property. Next projectile to hit him will be lead.

I don't have access to the "More PERMANENT" paint you
referred to, but the paintballs are quite effective
on local dogs.   I normally will not shoot a dog or
cat with a "LEAD" projectile if I know who the owners are.
The paintball is a nice alternative.

I too have a friendly neighborhood cat that comes over to visit my cat.  They don't fight, just kinda stare at one another, but my "Spike" does not like his "space" being challenged and as a result he's been pulling hair out and spotting when indoors.

Where do you find this tree marking paintball in permenant RED?? I have a grandson across he street who can furnish the gun,  but we need to know where to get this particular paintball.

I get mine from my cousin who gets them from a timber cruiser he knows.  I will call him and see if I can get a suppliers name.  Until then I would do a search for them on whatever search engine you prefer.  I would guess that a good blood red color paintball, even the washable type, would let the owner know their pet isn’t wanted in other peoples yards.

Just a quick note about this, there is a hunt going as we speak for a shooter of cats(using a pellet gun) going on south of me by law enforcement personal.  A number of cats have died and the penalty for this is prison time(up to five years and more for multiple offences).  Small groups and tight lines to all.  Lawdog

Another thing worth remembering, too, is the fact that in some communities, discharging a paintball gun might be illegal. My sister in law lives in a town where they can send ya up the river even for shooting off a slingshot.

A goodly number of pet owners have IQ's scarcely higher than their animals and would be incensed that ya would have the audacity to plug their little darlings with a paintball. The fact that they were being inconsiderate jerks by (often illegally) letting their pets run loose would never occur to them. And curiously, the law might come down harder on you than on them.
