About two (2) months back, I promised to post pictures of my Mil-Surp guns when I found out how to do it. I have "patm41" to thank for the photo information and so, here they are......

Mosin-Nagant 91/30 refinished in my spare time and actually my very 1st project. Excellent bore and wood was in fairly good shape. Has "1933" stamped on the receiver along with the "Red Star". Gun purchase and finishing came out to $99.00 (this gun does shoot well)!

Mosin-Nagant M44 was my 2nd refinishing job. Again an excellent bore and tried something different with the stock. Stamped "1946" on the receiver along with Red Army "Sycle and Hammer". Entire gun and refinishing cost me $65.00.......has "K in a Circle" designation from Russian Arsenal as an accuracy-tested rifle. It is a shooter also!

Schmitt-Ruben Straight-pull bolt from my K-31....(see below).

Stoeger .12 gauge Coach Gun. Side-by-side 20" barrels and is my Cowboy Action competiton shotgun. Medallions in stock are awards from various matches.

Swiss K-31 Schmitt-Ruben Straight-Pull rifle. The most accurate rifle that I own. My 3rd refinishing project and I like how it came out. I paid $79.00 at the military store for this gun and put about 3 weeks of work into refinishing the stock.

1st Generation SAA Colt (on top) in .38-40, Serial # 124200. My original Cowboy Action pistol until I was offered $1400.00 for it at a match (wife told me to put it away and bought me the bottom pistol). Bottom is a Ruger Vacquero in .44-40, has Buffalo Horn grips and "RB Rooson" engraved on the handle-strap.

Two (2) American Western Arms (AWA) Longhorns in .38/357, which are my current competition pistols. Both have the "Faux Colt Grips" and "slicked up" for match competition.

Im sure you enjoy your Russian Rifles.. your refinish jobs look great!!

Im glad you got the posting pics think all figured out !! :-)

Do you have the bayo for the Mosin 91/30 ?? those really make a rifle stand out !!

Yes, I do have the bayonet for the MN 91/30 (it and the dog-collar sling were thrown in with the purchase price). The bayonet is abit awkward to take for target practice (mainly just a "show accessory" in my very humble attempts to do something with the rifle - when friends come over, I attached it and they think it's "cool" - our wives just look at us, grin and roll their eyes!

Big Bill,

The 1933 MN 91/30 is a "Hex Receiver". I am still surprised at times, in my good fortune to find a vintage rifle like this.

I originally wanted to buy an "old Mosin-Nagant" just to have a rifle to take apart and "kind of diddle around with it" - I had no idea that it was going to turn into this little bit of fascinating history.

I have since been offered $150.00 for the rifle and it was pointed out that I only ".....paid $99.00 for it.....!"

Well, needless to say I didn't fall off of a turnip truck and I decided to keep the gun for awhile longer (and it will go to my son when I am tired of it......it actually is to be part of his inheritance.......in about 30 years!)

The "HEX" reciever 91/30 is a nice find I have only found one in the past two years+ of going to gun shows. I walked passed mine three times in the gun show that day and no one bought it. Mine was marked $89 and the dealer selling it had a puzzled look on his face when I snatched it up so quickly I don't think he knew what it was. There were more Finnish M39's that day cheap too ($100). I guess we just have to stay browsing you never know what you will find.

I have let a couple of friends shoot the 91/30 from a bench rest and they keep wanting to buy it from me!!

I took James, a friend, to the Military Store with me and he was all intent on buying a MN 91/30. He told the owner he wanted the "Hex Receiver" and was informed that they were very difficult to find. I was smiling all the way home.......

* By the way, James did get a nice laminate 91/30 for about $129.00!! The good part is he keeps bugging me to go shoot now (ya' gotta love what these rifles do you)!
