What About The Gamo 8 shot Multishot????
« on: March 11, 2004, 08:23:12 AM »
It really looks cool with the "rotary clip" that holds 8 pellets!!  I saw a "road test" on one in my NRA magazine some time ago, and they liked it a lot!!  Anyone have one??  OR have comments about this pellet rifle??

BSa actually makes two different versions of a reloading spr

both are soon to be discontinued. Cost is about $400 and I think I saw them at Compasseco at that price. BSA is always a much better gun than the Gamos. Not that gamos are necessary bad just the BSA is better.

I Have never owned a Gamo gun. Gamo are i think a cheaper subsidary of BSA.If you are looking for a multi shot heres my own opinions of how they rate. Of course i cant quote U.S prices but ill give you a rough idea.
The Theoben Rapid range are amongst the (some would say are the best)best but they are expensive.
The Bsa super 10 is an exellent gun at a reasonable price for quality.
The falcon raptors are quite capable at a very reasonable price but the quality is no where near as good as the 2 above.
Anything by Logun is awesome quality. i currently own an s-16 but again they fall into the expensive range.
If your looking for a 8 shot on a budget id go for the falcon raptors. i owned one for 2 years. The magazines are palstic but cheap and i never broke one. The cocking action is a little sloppy compared to the others but it works. The loading is a little lumpy but you get used to ramming it home. In the uk this gun is £200 pounds cheaper than the logun and 4-5 hundred cheaper than a rapid 7. At the end of the day you still get what you pay for.

Drilling Man,

I have owned and seen a good many Gamo rifles and basically they are JUNK.  Gamo does not have the best name in air rifles, PERIOD.  They will not back up their warrantees so if you have a problem, good luck.  As stated, BSA, RWS and many other rifles are a much better choice.  Save you money and get a better rifle by a better manufacture.  Small groups and tight lines to you.  Lawdog

The RWS looks ok but im a little concerned. The price looks pretty expensive to me. I dont know are Air guns expensive there compared to U.K prices? You could compare with a uk online seller "Uttings.com". I assume they are U.S dollars if so i would say your getting pretty close to the price of a decent precharge rifle. Ok with a precharge you do have the added expence of charging equipment. If guns are expensive there though i would say that RWS are improving all the time and are making much better guns than they were 10 years ago when theyre main market was BB/Co2 guns. The RWS Excalibre has just got rave reviews in the airgun press in the uk. If i had to pick between a Gamo and an RWS id go with the RWS. Just do yourself a favour and shop around a little.
