Congrats Howie.  Sounds like you are having way too much fun hunting.  It must be pretty warm down there by now.  Are you butchering etc... immediately or can you still let em hang for a while.

Howie, I too live in East Texas ( Brazoria ) an I haven't seen much action during the early evenings. During deer season the hogs seems to change from coming in anytime to night, yet now they all seem to be coming in after the sun goes down. Never hunted them at night since I work during the day. Is this a phase they are going through or do I have to do my hunting on the weekends during the night?

As yoyu  know,  it  is already smoking hot  here in east texas.  the only  way  to  hunt  thenm  in the  evening  is  to  find  their wallows along creeks   bottom lands  and  surprisingly  in pine  forests  ive seen  themselvels litterally bury themselves in pine needles to keep cool.  most  of  the  hog  activitiy  i  am  seeing  is  past 10pm  when  it  is  cool,  I  livwe  in woodville bait heavily  with  corn  or  something  along  the  creeks  and  that  should help  you.  i  also  use  optronics nightblaster varmit lights  i  have  one  mounted to  my  12  guage 45-70  and  my 270  if  you  want  me  to  send  a  pic  of  these  lights  i  will  ii  have  the 250 yard version  and  have  found  if  i  use  the  red  lens  it  is  not  offensive  to  hogs   or other animals   take  care  and  good  luck   that  is  the  best  advice  i can  give
