Joe,
I've been a constant monitor/contributor over on RFC for the last year, and I haven't ever seen anything remotely close to a flame. But, I never visited the area on RFC where anything but technical or shooting related posts were made. I heard all of the commotion several weeks ago, but didn't get interested in who was flaming/bashing/fighting who. I'm not interested in any of the political/social aspects of any forum. I really just want to learn as much as I can, and, wherever appropriate, contribute what little I know from my experiences; not hear-say, but what I've experienced. What's troublesome for me is those that post from what they've heard, not what they know from experience. And, more troublesome, are posts made in a less than professional manner. I feel that it is OK to call someone on their "stuff" as long as it isn't personal, but objective and responsible. Your On-Line Matches Forum is one of the best over there. I feel that reflects your professionalism in posting. People tend to take on the "personality" of a leader, good, or bad. You are good. I'm not into smoke blowing, it's just what I've noticed. I mentioned this to you before in person, so you know my view of your Forum. I've also noticed that many posters over on RFC who were there before the commotion aren't there now. Don't know about any of that. And, I'm not into gossip. I run from it as it is always personal, degrading, demeaning; the low road.
I've learned a ton about rimfires over on RFC that I would never have learned without them.
I hope they survive.
