Nope thats not a typo! I was looking at Hornadys new catalog and noticed they offer a 90 grain XTP in 30 caliber! Has anyone tried these? I'm thinking of ordering some to try in the 30-30 when I get around to loading again.....ought to be a real zipper!!

Some of the reviewers at midway are using it in 30 carbine and 30-30. I've been thinking of getting some 100gr .312" for woodchucks in the 1891 Mauser.

I just may order some then....did the reviewers list any start loads for the lil bugger? Corse I guess I could take my lazy tail over to the site and look but you've already been there...

I really like the XTP boolits best thing Hornady has come out with since the A-Max

My Lee book only shows V-n120 for a 93gr, and no 90gr bullets are listed.
2230,2015, and 4198 look good with 100gr bullets. The top 15 loads in the Lee book for 100gr jacketed are all compressed charges, I wonder if magnum pistol powder might be in order.

I was in a hurry to get to the party and I forgot to post the link this morning. I haven't reviewed the guest book yet, but there had to be at least 100 people there for the folks' 50th. I'm glad we didn't try to have the open house in January on their anniversary when many of their friends would have been in Florida.

If you click on "technical specs" you will see that they have the ballistic coefficient of a badminton shuttlecock. (well, the .312 60gr are like a shuttlecock, the 90 gr are more like a tennis ball) I still think they'd be awesome on woodchucks at reasonable distance.
