Here are a couple ideas off the top of my head:

1. flip a coin.

2. 12 in the morning, 20 in the afternoon

3. 20 in the morning, 12 in the afternoon

4. Go shoot up a box or two of clays and take the one with the most broken clays, alternating guns every 25 round box of ammo.

5. Duct tape them together and have a 12/20 double barrel (just kidding, a little red-green humor... :) )

6. Take a kid with you and give him the 20 to use and you take the 12.

It's kind of like having two girlfriends and deciding which to take to the prom...

The 12 you'll need all the shot you can to those speedy little suckers!
But don't blame me after you shoot three boxes and you are too sore
to move.

I like Scruffy's ideas myself.  Course I've always fantasized about a manege a trois in a corn field   Duct tape optional.

Thanks, for all your helpful insight  I got a real big laugh, :-D  Red Green would be proud.   But I really would like some personal opinions about this subject.

I was being serious... well sort of.  What I mean is why not take both your 12 & 20 with you?   Start off with the 20,  then if your not scoring enough hits to suite you switch to the 12.    :money:

I agree with brett, take both.  If you're doing alot of shooting the 20 would be easier on the shoulder.  But if you aren't on, having an off day, etc, switch to the 12 gauge.

I've spent most of my shooting clays with a 20 in my hand, and have broke alot more clays with a 20 than I probably ever will with a 12.  If I'm on the 20 is all I need.  But there are days where I just can't get down the lead or the timing.  The 12 helps, but some days nothing works...

Why not get the 12 and a set of browning gauge reducers from cabelas. One gun and you can shoot all the gauges.

Sounds like he already has both but if not wouldn't it be more feasible to just purchase a set of barrels from NEF?   I don't know anything about gauge reducers.  What do the Browning gauge reducers cost?  Does the ejector still function with gauge reducers or do you have to pick the shells out with your pocket knife or something?

At what range will your shot's be? what's your experience level with dove? which gun have you spent more time shooting and most importantly what's the fresh crop of young women at CSU look like this year? I live in the fort for 3 of the most memorable years of my life. Didn't hunt any doves there but I plan on using a 12 this year if I can escape from work.
PROUD REDNECK CONSERVATIVE

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun
