is my forend sealed????

i wanted to seal the forend on my ultra slug huntet and used Tru-Oil and painted it on pretty thick :shock:  i put four coates on the same way and it dryed hard as a rock!!!!![all of it in the barrel channel] will this seal it good enough for hunting in damp,wet weather??? i could not find any birchwood stock sealer :cry:  :cry:  :cry:  so i had to use what could find :wink:  :wink: . will this work??? THANK YOU FOR ANY INFO!!!

Yes that should do it......Just don't forget to run a dollar bill under the barrel between the forestock to be sure you're not causing any pressure points.  If you find that to be the case, you'll want to sand those spots down and reseal.
