Unfortunately for Mortie, prior to or at the same time he was appearing on the old H&R site, he was making a bad name for himself here and finally wore out his welcome. After the old talk board closed, he showed up at several other sites and while no one made him unwelcome, his brand of humor found itself, shall we say, tired and unwanted. I haven't seen him elsewhere for more than 3 months now.
Sad actually, I enjoyed his humor and got a lot of good laughs. Unfortunately, as firearms owners we are constantly saddled with exactly the sterotype BM portrayed, and I am sure that at one time or another we have all met a true idiot that would have gone "BLASTIN' FOR squirrel WITH GRENBOX REMINGTON AND A TRUSTY 30-06" in a subdivision no less, his spin on firearms ownership and use was generally unwelcome. I don't think it was his humor that was the problem as much as the vehicles he was seeking to use to promote it. Websites oriented to the sharing of experience with and learning of firearms simply are not an appropriate place. We don't buy a firearms magazine to get the comedy channel, and his humor was in no way in keeping with the style or quality of the old Feild and Stream "Exit Laughing" column.
