Taurus Model 85
« on: June 21, 2004, 09:56:31 AM »
A local gun shop is selling new Taurus Model 85 2" blued 38 specials for $229.  Is this a good deal?

I have read some negative stuff about Taurus in other threads.  Does this include their revolvers or just their semi's?  I plan to use the gun with my concealed carry permit.  Are there any problems with this gun?  A local gunsmith recommended it a basically a cheaper S & W...

Is this a good price and a reliable gun?

Thanks.

I have had a couple, and they are pretty decent little guns.  still have an 85CH, which is the stainless bobbed hammer double action only one. Accuracy is pretty fair out to combat distances but I didn't feel it made a very good CCW pistol. Only 5 shots and speed loaders are kind of a pain to carry around.   KN
