HK USP Compact .40 or Sig Sauer P229
« on: June 06, 2004, 06:45:43 PM »
I've narrowed it down to a HK USP Compact .40 in a Variant 1 or Sig Sauer P229 .40. I have no firing experience with either. I've held both pistols and they feel perfect in my hands. Anybody have any opinions? The Sig has a 1 year warranty and the HK has a lifetime warranty. The HK can also use +P loads. I'm not sure if the Sig can use +P loads.

I have the USP in .40 and I love it. It shoots great and if you add a hogue slip on grip, it feels great in your hand. I use mine for a concealed carry gun. I also like the variant 1 style decock, it is very easy to operate with your thumb, plus when the hammer drops it doesn't sound like metal slamming together. I got mine for $699.00, which is an ok price. If you aren't in a rush you could find a cheaper one on www.gunbroker.com They also have used ones.
Go out and get yourself a Concealed Weapons License. I did. :gun4:

I bought the HK USPC .40 in a Variant 1 for $675 total. I can't wait to get it on the range. It will be my carry gun. The glock 23 will stay at home.
