RWS Scope on Webley Stingray?
« on: June 23, 2004, 04:46:35 AM »
I am considering a RWS 4 x32 300 scope for my new Webley Stingray.  Does any body have any opinions on whether this is a good choice or not?  Please let me know.

Thanks.

You won't like my opinion of RWS scopes.  I bought a RWS 450 3-9X40 a couple of years ago.  I am now on my second REPLACEMENT of that scope!  The REPLACEMENT will have to be replaced becaused the ocular is stuck and can't be focused!   Considering the PRICE paid for that scope, it should be a good one.  It isn't.  DEFINITELY one of the air gun items to be avoided.  You couldn't give me one.  DNR has the RWS 300 scope you are considering for $121.17.  A MUCH better choice would be the Swift 4-12X40AO 676/676M for $117/$120 from eabco.com.  I have six or seven or so of these scopes and there isn't a better air rifle scope for the money.  Another excellent scope would be the Bushnell Trophy 4-12X40 73-4124, $151.80 at dnrsports.

BTW, that Stingray is a really nice air rifle!
