220 Stands
« on: June 24, 2004, 07:30:59 AM »
I am getting ready to make some more 220 stands for trail trapping coon, I make and use the H type stand. I make them so they are off the ground a little so some of the skunks can go under. What I would like to know is what you all use and why you like what use? I may try another style. Just love them dry fluffy coon.  Jeff

I never trapped coon in trails before. But can you actually keep the traps high enough that skunks will go under
and it won't interfer with your coons(the traps being so high)????
I'm just curious  :D

Woodtick, I like my 220 trail sets high had some trouble with coon trying to go over the top if set to close to the ground, so I try to leave a 4 1/2 x 5 inch gap under the stand that seems to let some of the skunks keep on going. Its a long ways from fool proof, but I belive that it helps. Not that its a bad thing to catch a skunk, its just that I would rather have a coon. Jeff
