Liberal-NDP Government

Both the Liberals and ther NDP have stated they want to keep the firearms registry going- in spite of  conclusive proof it has saved not one life[ they quote the statistic that ''gun related deaths have declined by 30%, but conveniantly neglect to tell the Canadian Taxpayers that that figure includes suicides, and that death by hanging increased by exactly the same numbers that suicide by firearms  declined]
So- the real reason we have a firearms registry is that it  buys the  big city vote[ where the bulk of firearms related crime occurs] at the expense of the expendable rural vote- where the majority of legitimate [ although the Liberals claim their is no''legitimate'' private ownership of any firearms] firearms owners live.
Conclusion- money- and votes talk. You will continue to see billions wasted on a firearms registry that their own committees have concluded does not work, has not saved any lives, and has only curtailed the legal sales of firearms-leaving the criminal  sales to continue unabated .
But-the bottom line is  it got them voted back into power

and where did that vote happen??  east of manitoba again. there are more mp's in greater toronto city itself that either manitoba or saskatchewan.  and I'm sorry to say it, but the ethnic  vote is playing a major factor in keeping the liberals in power. happy canada day......yeah right.

what bothers me even more than the billion dollars we wasted on a firearms registry is the fact that Canada has become known as a''safe haven'' for  murder suspects. There have been several instances where suspects fled to Canada  and claimed if sent back, they could face the death penalty. The canadian government will feed and house these people and negotiate  a no death penalty agreement or we won't deport them back to the US.This costs the suspect nothing, we[ that means you and me-Canadian taxpayers] pick up the tab to negotiate such an agreement. This can delay the trial for years and greatly enhance their chances to get off scott free, simply due to the delay of bringing the case to trial. In some cases many of the witnesses have died.Charles NG spent 9 years in Canda before he was deported and subsequently convicted of multiple sex related murders. We just sent back, after years of delay[ paid for by you and me] two young men now convicted in Washington state for a brutal murder of family members- all to try and gain life insurance money. The Canadian government had refused to allow them to be extradidted unless assurances were given that if convicted, they would not be executed. After year s of delay, Washington state agreed to the terms, just so they  could proceed with a trial. The men were summarily convicted and sentanced to life.Maybe the nextstep is for us to demand early parole if they think the life sentances were too harsh.....and we accuse the  US of meddling in other countries affairs.
Maybe the first order of business for the new Liberal-NDP government should be to take out advertising in the US advising criminals of  their legal options if they come to Canada.....who knows, we might even fast track their immigration
