I'm sorry I jumped off the C&R ship today

I purchased a Savage 93 in 17HMR so to repent I pressed 500rds of 308 thats measuring the case length,  sizing, cleaning the case lube, polishing the cases and priming them.   Then i felt worse so I pressed/sized 300 more.   Am I free now??                                  BigBill

I purchased my last modern gun in the early 90's and the paperwork for it surely sucks now it took me like an hour to square everything away and make the purchase.  I had one piece of paper to get married with very little on it?  I sure wish we had a nation wide handgun permit  that would also cover us for gun purchases across the country too.  It could be a reader card in every gun shop they read it and its ok'ed  no BS for the good gun guys.

One of my other favorite shooters is a Encore with a .223 (26") barrel and Winchester 6X20X50 scope.
It doesn't have class like my Swedes, but it consistantly does 1/2" groups @ 100 yards with S&B FMJ ammo.
That in itself is alot of fun.
You are still in the group Bib Bill.

The  new Savage Mod 93R17 FNS 17HMR  bolt action and it has a black syn. stk. and full size weaver scopemounts for $159 on sale.   I mounted a Tasco 6X-24X40 varmit scope on it and it has adjustable objective on it too.  It doesn't have "BDC"  bullet drop compisation like my more expensive bushnell bigbore scopes have that can shoot out too 500yds with no error but thats ok I guess.  I heard the 2,500 FPS little bullet can also shoot 1/2" groups and some are raising hell with varmits.  I also heard there is another new .17 caliber bullet too the .17HM2  its shorter than the .17HMR(less power)  so I may have to repent  again when i buy one of those too. Maybe a handgun or semi-auto rifle as soon as they make one.  I hope that S.Sumner chimes in about the accuracy with his .17 too because I'm hearing all different reports about it.   Some say the accuracy falls off right away because the barrel gets dirty faster because of the smaller round.   So at the range with shooting many rounds we have to clean the barrel more but with hunting it should be ok we will see I'll report how it does.                            BigBill
