weird sight in problem
« on: July 12, 2004, 09:43:23 AM »
I have a Conender, .223 cal., shooting 55 gr  Black Hills   remanf. ammo. I sighted in at 30 yards to start, 1 1/2 inches high. When I move the target out to 60 yards, poi  is 5 inches high.  I was shooting off a rest, and I sure don't understand this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

On my ballistic chart my .223 is climbing from the bore to about 100 yds when it is sighted at 100 yds dead on then it starts to drop at 120yds.
This may be what you are getting.

That sound correct. Normally the bullet will cross the scope line at about 25 yards climbing until 75-100 and then start to drop. I normally sight in for 2-inch high at 100 yards.
