Sources say it has already been nominated for Muzzleloading's 2004 "New Product of the Year." Has anybody tried one yet? The rotating head stops bullet scuff, so when you sit on your duff-- you know the sabot just seated is 100% up to snuff.

Looks like the same one I got from Cecil, but mine doesn't rotate.
We need to change our politicians
like we do dirty diapers.............
for the same reason.

$14.00 Bucks. Doesn't sound bad. What Cecil is claiming makes a little
sense to me. Have you tested it Randy? What do you think about it? :D

It's a good idea, Grouse. With the groups you've been shooting, though, you might not be all that worried.

I use a range rod at the range (duh), the one that Knight sells with the rotating handle. I can feel the sabot rotating down the bore, and the only flyers I have are due to the nut behind the butt.

But, having the head rotate directly with the ogive is a great idea, and it is a lot easier just to carry the "RAT" in a pocket on a trip or in the field than a range rod-- and it makes it far more difficult to seat a sabot incorrectly.

Hey Randy I use the same range rod, the Knight one with the knob on the end. I always shoot better groups when using it compared to the standard rod on my rifles. I can feel my sabots rotate down the barrel with the knight range rod.

I have felt that stutter with my standard ramrod and suspected the sabot was skidding on the groves just as Cecil did and worried it would affect accuracy, it usually did.

This sounds like it would be a great product for folks interested in squeezing accuracy and consistency.
